Balochistan achieves record Rs 130bn revenue in FY 2025-26

Published on: June 18, 2026 9:48 AM

The Balochistan government recorded a historic achievement in the last fiscal year, collecting Rs. 130 billion in revenue, according to Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani.

Presenting the provincial budget for FY 2026-27 in the Balochistan Assembly, the finance minister said the milestone reflects the province’s growing financial capacity and commitment to strengthening its economic base. He announced new initiatives to further enhance revenue collection, including the introduction of a Legal Assessment Gap to conduct a comprehensive survey of tax and non-tax laws, and a Revenue Assessment Gap to identify untapped sources of income.

Shoiab Nosherwani explained that in the upcoming fiscal year, provincial departments will be assigned enhanced revenue targets, with determined efforts to ensure their achievement.

He highlighted that during the last fiscal year, the Balochistan Revenue Authority contributed Rs. 59.8 billion, the Energy Department collected Rs. 36.9 billion, the Minerals and
Mineral Resources Department generated Rs. 21.1 billion, the Board of Revenue secured Rs. 8.4 billion, and the Excise and Taxation Department added Rs. 4 billion.

The minister stressed that these figures demonstrate the province’s ability to generate resources internally, reducing reliance on external support. He added that reforms in taxation and financial management are designed to ensure transparency, efficiency, and sustainability in revenue collection.

Officials expressed confidence that the new measures will further strengthen provincial income in FY 2026-27, enabling the government to invest more effectively in development projects and public welfare initiatives.
