US may strike Iran again tonight: Trump

Published on: July 8, 2026 7:21 PM

US President Donald Trump said the United States will likely carry out additional military strikes against Iran on Wednesday night, further escalating tensions between the two countries. The warning came a day after previous US attacks and signals the possibility of renewed military action. The developments have heightened concerns about regional stability and the risk of broader conflict in the Middle East.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara before meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump indicated that further action was imminent. “I’ll give a little warning: We’re going to hit them hard tonight,” the US president said. However, he did not provide details about potential targets or the scope of the planned operation.

Trump’s remarks followed recent US military strikes on Iranian targets that have sharply increased tensions between Washington and Tehran. The renewed threat comes amid growing international concern that continued military exchanges could trigger a wider regional confrontation affecting global security and energy markets.

World leaders attending the NATO summit are closely monitoring developments as diplomatic efforts continue alongside rising military tensions. Several countries have urged restraint and called for dialogue to prevent further escalation between the United States and Iran.

The latest warning underscores the fragile security situation in the Middle East, where fears of additional military action continue to unsettle regional governments and international markets. Analysts say any new strikes could further complicate ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions.
