Operation Shaban kills 13 more militants, toll reaches 39

Published on: July 10, 2026 8:10 PM

Pakistani security forces have killed 13 more suspected militants during Operation Shaban, raising the total number of militants killed in the operation to 39, according to security sources. The operation was launched following the attack on the Mangi Dam Police Station in Balochistan. Authorities said the offensive remains focused on clearing militant hideouts in the region.

Security sources said the latest operations were carried out by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and Balochistan Police. They added that forces continued targeting suspected militant positions in difficult mountainous terrain. The operation is part of broader counterterrorism efforts following the recent attack on the police station.

According to the sources, security forces also repelled an attack on a police station in Khuzdar earlier on Friday. Initial reports indicated that eight suspected militants were killed during ground operations by the Army and FC. Authorities further said helicopter operations reportedly killed another five to six suspected militants, although official verification is still awaited.

Officials said security forces have further tightened the cordon around suspected militant positions during Operation Shaban. They added that 26 suspected militants had already been killed during operations conducted on July 6 and 7. Search and clearance operations are continuing across affected areas to eliminate remaining threats.

Security sources also stated that, since July 5, a total of 75 suspected militants have been killed in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations. Independent verification of the reported figures was not immediately available. Authorities say counterterrorism operations will continue until the security situation is fully stabilized.
