Iran demands reparations from US, Israel

Published on: July 11, 2026 8:18 PM

Iran’s judiciary chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei on Saturday accused the United States and Israel of committing war crimes against Iran and its people. He said Tehran would pursue legal action to hold those responsible accountable and seek financial reparations for the alleged damage. The remarks reflect Iran’s continued hardline response following recent regional tensions.

Speaking during a meeting with a delegation of international lawyers and legal experts, Mohseni-Ejei said Iran was committed to pursuing legal cases related to what it described as alleged war crimes committed by the United States and Israel. He argued that those found responsible should face punishment as well as compensation proportional to the alleged harm caused.

The judiciary chief also accused Israel of committing crimes in Palestine and Lebanon over several decades. He said Iran would continue supporting what he described as resistance against Israel wherever such movements existed. His comments repeated Tehran’s longstanding position on the regional conflict.

Mohseni-Ejei further stated that Iranian authorities would seek compensation for damage allegedly suffered by the Iranian nation. He stressed that those responsible should expect legal efforts aimed at recovering reparations through available judicial mechanisms. However, he did not provide details about specific legal proceedings or international courts involved.

The United States and Israel have not immediately responded to Mohseni-Ejei’s latest remarks. His statements come amid continued regional tensions and follow recent exchanges between Iran, the United States, and Israel that have heightened diplomatic and security concerns across the Middle East.
