India’s recent string of defeats across multiple formats has sparked speculation over significant changes within the national cricket team’s coaching setup, with reports suggesting the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is preparing a comprehensive review of the team’s performances.

According to Indian media, concerns have grown following consecutive series losses to South Africa, Ireland and England. The disappointing results have reportedly increased pressure on the coaching staff, while discussions over restructuring the support team have gathered momentum.

Reports indicate that a key member of head coach Gautam Gambhir’s coaching staff could leave the national team setup, with another support staff member also expected to move on. One official is reportedly being linked with a return to franchise cricket in the Indian Premier League, although no formal announcement has been made.

Indian media also claim that the atmosphere within the team’s dressing room has become strained in recent months. Following the Test series defeat against South Africa, reports suggested differences had emerged within the squad, while disagreements between selectors and members of the coaching staff have reportedly added to the challenges facing the team.

The BCCI is expected to hold a review meeting after the conclusion of the ongoing T20 series against England. The meeting is likely to examine the reasons behind India’s recent performances and assess whether changes to the coaching and support staff are necessary ahead of upcoming international assignments.

India’s difficult run began with a Test series whitewash against South Africa before suffering another clean sweep in a two-match T20 series against Ireland. The team has also struggled against England, losing the opening three matches of the five-match T20 series to concede the contest before its conclusion.

While the reports have fuelled speculation about sweeping changes, the BCCI has yet to announce any official decisions regarding the future of the coaching staff. Any changes are expected to be considered after the board completes its review of the team’s recent performances and long-term planning.
