LPG prices soar in Peshawar

Published on: July 13, 2026 3:18 PM

Residents of Peshawar have expressed growing concern over the sharp increase in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices, claiming that the official rate of Rs240 per kilogram is not being enforced. According to some consumers on Sunday, LPG is being sold for as much as Rs400 per kilogram in several parts of the city, placing an additional financial burden on households already struggling with inflation. Citizens say repeated complaints have yielded little action from the district administration alleging that only temporary inspections and symbolic measures have been undertaken. They have urged the Deputy Commissioner and other relevant authorities to ensure strict implementation of official prices, take decisive action against profiteers and provide immediate relief to consumers. Residents warned that they may resort to protests if prompt and effective measures are not taken.
