Atta Tarar praises Türkiye’s democratic resilience

Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar said Türkiye’s democracy stands as a powerful example of public determination and national unity. Speaking at an event marking the 10th anniversary of Türkiye’s Democracy and National Unity Day, he praised the resilience of the Turkish people. He said the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye continues to grow stronger through shared values and mutual support.

Addressing the ceremony, Tarar said it was an honor to participate in the event commemorating Türkiye’s resistance against the failed coup attempt. He stated that no force could defeat the determination of the Turkish nation when its people stand united. According to the minister, Türkiye’s democratic journey demonstrates the strength of public resolve during times of national crisis.

Tarar said Pakistan and Türkiye share historic ties that predate Pakistan’s independence and are reinforced by strong people-to-people relations. He recalled his recent visit to Istanbul, saying it provided an opportunity to witness the warmth and depth of the friendship between the two nations. He added that the relationship has continued to strengthen across generations.

The minister also credited President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan with leading Türkiye toward significant economic and defense progress. He said Pakistan has consistently supported Türkiye’s position on important issues and noted that both countries have stood by each other during difficult times. He described the bilateral relationship as a valuable legacy passed down through generations.

Concluding his remarks, Tarar paid tribute to the 250 people who lost their lives defending Türkiye’s democracy. He expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with the families of the victims and reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Ankara. He said the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye would continue to flourish in the years ahead.
