ATC summons Khan on February 15 in 2014 sit-in violence cases

Published on: January 31, 2018 9:06 PM

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has been summoned by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on February 15 in cases regarding 2014 sit-in violence.

Earlier today, the court conducted a proceeding regarding the case and summoned PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi. Qureshi was granted an interim bail, while he was also ordered to pay a surety bond worth 100,000 rupees.

The cases against the PTI chief include that of the attack on the state television building, Parliament and the then Islamabad SSP Operations Asmatullah Junejo.

ATC Judge Shahrukh Arjumand headed the proceedings today and summoned Khan on February 15 in Junejo attack case and on February 26 in the remaining three cases.

In November last year, Khan was granted bail by the court and was ordered to pay surety bonds worth 200,000 rupees. The court also ordered the PTI chief to be president during the investigation.
