Meet Priya Prakash Varrier, the winking girl gone viral, the internet’s latest crush. Priya’s face has launched a string of thousands of memes over social media platforms, and the side effect of her viral outcry has led to a blue tick appear on her Instagram account; this just happened overnight.
Priya seems to have been part of the Instagram circle since October 2016, having shared only 84 posts so far, but her account only recently became verified, after her follower count shot up to over 1.5 million (and still counting) within just a matter of a day.
The clip that has sent the world spiraling into such a shocking meltdown and has not only men but women smitten too, is from a song titled Manikya Malarya Poovi from the new Malaylam movie ‘Oru Adaar Love’, in which Priya and her co-stars appear to be essaying the lives of school students. In the viral footage, Priya can be seen winking at a boy (a fellow student) as she flirts with him all the way across the stage, and he is as overwhelmed by her wink and smile as social media has been all over for the last couple of days.
Her clip on Youtube has garnered over eight million views so far, with the internet going crazy over memes drawn from all around (including Zakir Khan’s ‘Sakht Launda’). News also has it that Priya has been signed for her next film already, despite the fact that the release of her debut film is still underway.
