Published on: March 19, 2018 7:50 PM

KARACHI: Anchorperson Amir Liquat Hussain has on Monday joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, it was announced during a press conference in Karachi.

During a press conference in Sindh’s capital, PTI Chairman Imran Khan announced the arrival of anchorperson and politician Amir Liaquat Hussain and veteran actor Abid Ali at tehreek-e-insaf.

Speaking on occassion, Imran welcomed Liaquat saying that PTI needs his services, especially in the media.

Khan also requested the people of Karachi to present the party with an opportunity, while he vowed to work for the welfare of the people in the city and Sindh if PTI is elected to power.

“The people of Karachi should support PTI, not for me, but for the welfare of your children. The time has come to once again transform Karachi into the city of lights,” the PTI chief said.

Upon his turn to address the press conference, Amir Liaquat promised that PTI would be his ‘last political party’. “I have been serving Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) all my life, and PTI would be my final destination. There is no question about it,” Amir stated.

Veteran drama and film actor Abid Ali also vowed to transform Karachi into the city of lights. He added that ‘most people do not know what corruption’ is, while in a possible jab at former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Ali said that ‘then there are some people who question their disqualification’.
