Three more MQM-P lawmakers defected to PSP

Published on: April 8, 2018 5:53 PM

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) lawmaker Mehboob Alam along with two others joined Pakistan Sar Zameen Party (PSP) on Sunday.

Alam was elected as a member of the National Assembly from NA-242 on MQM-P’s ticket after getting 166746 votes in the general elections 2013.

MPA Saifuddin Khalid and Muhammad Kamran also jumped the ship along with Alam.

PSP Chief Mustafa Kamal held a press conference at Pakistan House to welcome them to the party.

Kamal said he hoped that next prime minister would be either form PSP or a PSP-backed member.

Several other MQM-P lawmakers including Muhammad Muzammil Qureshi, Waseem Hussain, Dr Fouzia Hameed, Naheed Begum and Naila Munir have already joined the PSP months before the fresh general elections.
