Safdar gave in like a ‘Sher’: Maryam Nawaz

Published on: July 9, 2018 11:42 AM

LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Sunday remarked that she was proud that Captain (r) Safdar surrendered like a lion.

While talking to the media in London, Maryam commended Safdar’s way of getting arrested with power and in all bravery.

She vowed that getting arrested along with any other sacrifice needed under the banner of ‘respect to vote’ will be made by the leadership or by thousands of PML-N devotees treading the same course as them.

Maryam added that the Pakistani nation will avenge the injustices done to PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif by casting vote to ‘Sher’ on July 25, while adding that there was no need to call people to rally and protest, they stand with Nawaz and will carry his campaign.

She asserted that the game was out of Imran Khan’s or his master’s hands. Maryam said that those controlling Imran’s strings were left with nothing but regret.

Upon being asked about her playing Benazir Bhutto’s (BB) role, Maryam responded that she had the upmost respect for her and her struggle, but she is Maryam Nawaz, an independent identity, thus should not be compared to BB. She added that her identity was and is PML-N.

Earlier, while talking to the media, Maryam Nawaz had said that Nawaz Sharif’s decision to return to serve his sentence will rewrite history. She added that PML-N’s sacrifices will not go wasted, it will bear fruit for the public and for the generations to come.

PML-N Quaid’s daughter said that Nawaz along with her were the voice of the millions of people struggling and representing seeds of democracy.
