Pakistan, Saudi Arabia ink three grant agreement

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Thursday said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed three agreements of grant to strengthen China-Pakistan Economic Corridors (CPEC) projects.

He was addressing the media conference about the decision of the federal cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Imran khan on Thursday.

Fawad said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have inked three agreements for a grant and the first delegation of Saudi Arabia comprising of energy and petroleum ministers will reach Pakistan on Sunday.

“Saudi wants to bring a major investment in CPEC and this has begun,” he said.

Fawad underscored that during PM Imran visit Saudi Arabia urged to solve all issues in its ways as a CPEC partner.

The information minister said that government has also decided to launch a major operation against 100 big defaulters.

“Government has also an operation in Karachi to retrieve government land from illegal possession,” he added.

He also uncovered that government has decided to formulate a comprehensive policy on Afghan refugees.

He announced that government has extended the tax exemption on FATA and PATA for five years more.

“Ministers have been directed to the maximum use of technology as the government will try to transform ministries work on paperless economy,” Fawad said.
