VIDEO: Young Khabib Nurmagomedov grapples a bear

Published on: October 8, 2018 10:00 AM

UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov was talk of the town on Sunday as he decimated Irish superstar Conor McGregor and stirred a brawl outside the octagon at UFC 229.

The 30-year-old was praised for his dominant performance against one of the greatest fighters of all time, but was also criticised for his post-fight antics. Some, however, came to his defence saying that whatever he did was provoked by McGregor and his team, who disrespected the Eagle’s family, region and his friends.

What was more impressive about this fight was that the UFC gained a lot of new fans, who might not know much about Khabib. They were surprised at how he was manhandling McGregor, but that’s what the Russian has been doing for as long as he can remember.

A video circulating all over social media has caught the attention of people. In the video, a 9-year-old Khabib can be seen grappling with a baby bear. Khabib is continuously shooting for the legs, while the bear is doing its best to stop Nurmagomedov from taking full-control.

Given that Khabib does not give space for his opponents to breathe, Mr. bear is doing is pretty good job of defending and taking little Khabib’s back. The action is pretty back-and-forth, unlike Khabib’s fights, which are one-sided mauling. Full marks to the bear for putting up a fight here.
