Bishnoi gang claims attack, targets Salman Khan’s allies

Published on: August 9, 2025 5:43 PM

A member of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s group threatened actors, producers, and directors working with Salman Khan. This warning came a day after shots were fired outside Kapil Sharma’s café in Canada. In an audio clip shared online, a man calling himself Harry Boxer claimed responsibility for the attack. He warned that anyone collaborating with Salman Khan could be shot.

The shooting happened outside Kap’s Café in Surrey on Thursday. This was the second attack at the café in less than a month. No one was injured, but the building suffered multiple bullet holes. The earlier attack took place on July 10. The threats follow Salman Khan’s appearance on Kapil Sharma’s Netflix show, which aired in June.

Salman Khan has been on the Bishnoi gang’s radar since 1998 due to the blackbuck hunting case. The Bishnoi community considers blackbucks sacred. Khan has been under heavy security since a firing incident near his Mumbai home in April 2024. Two gang members were arrested in that case. Boxer, who is linked to the gang’s US operations, claimed responsibility for the recent attack.

Another group, Babbar Khalsa International, also claimed the attack. Its operative said it was retaliation for comments on Kapil Sharma’s show about Nihang Sikhs’ attire. Meanwhile, Kap’s Café shared a message online saying they were shocked but refused to give up. The post was later removed.

The violence has raised calls in Canada to label the Bishnoi gang a terrorist organization. The group has been linked to murders and extortion crimes in the country. Authorities are watching closely as tensions rise around the entertainment industry and gang threats.
