Sir Anthony Hopkins lists fire-ravaged California estate for £5.1 million

Sir Anthony Hopkins reportedly listed his California estate for millions
LOS ANGELES – Oscar-winning actor Sir Anthony Hopkins has put his California estate up for sale for £5.1 million ($6.4 million) after it was destroyed in the devastating wildfires that swept through Los Angeles earlier this year. According to The Daily Mirror, the Silence of the Lambs star is selling two adjoining plots in the Palisades neighborhood that were severely damaged in the January blaze.

Hopkins originally purchased the properties in 2018 and 2019 for a combined total of £10 million ($12.6 million). Despite the loss, the veteran actor remained philosophical, sharing a heartfelt message on Instagram at the time: “As we all struggle to heal from the devastation of these fires, it’s important we remember that the only thing we take with us is the love we give.”

The wildfires, which claimed ten lives and forced thousands to evacuate, also affected several other celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal, Diane Warren, and Ricki Lake. This is not the first time Hopkins has faced such a crisis. His Malibu home narrowly escaped destruction during the 2018 Woolsey Fire, and back in 2000, a blaze broke out at his Kensington, London residence while he was in Los Angeles.
