Published on: November 15, 2025 6:07 PM

Jordan’s King Abdullah II arrived in Islamabad on Friday for a two-day state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly received him at the Nur Khan Airbase, marking the start of an engagement that both sides view as strategically important.

During the visit, King Abdullah will receive a guard of honour at the Prime Minister’s House. He is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Officials say the trip highlights decades of close cooperation and trust between the two nations, particularly in security, regional issues, and economic collaboration.

According to the Foreign Office, the visit reflects the depth of longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Jordan. The FO added that the engagements will help shape a stronger strategic direction for future cooperation, especially in defence and regional diplomacy.

The Jordanian monarch will hold separate meetings with President Zardari and Prime Minister Sharif. Both sides are expected to discuss regional stability, trade prospects, and expanded defence partnerships. The discussions will also cover coordination on Middle East developments.
