According to Lakki Marwat District Police Officer’s spokesman Asif Hassan, the police vehicle came under attack when a suicide bomber detonated himself near the mobile. He confirmed that Head Constable Alauddin embraced martyrdom in the blast.

Hassan added that the suicide attacker was accompanied by another individual who managed to flee the scene amid the chaos. A search operation was immediately launched in the surrounding areas to trace the accomplice and secure the region.

The injured personnel were identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Haq Nawaz, Constable Yar Muhammad, Elite Force Constable Kamal Ahmad, Elite Force Constable Naeemullah, and Duty Foot Constable Nasrullah. They were shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi strongly condemned the attack, paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of the police force. He stated that the government fully stood with the police and that maintaining law and order remained its highest priority.

Afridi reiterated that such “cowardly attacks” would not weaken the resolve of law enforcement agencies. He assured that efforts to curb terrorism and protect citizens would continue with full force.

Pakistan has witnessed a surge in terrorist incidents in recent years, especially in KP and Balochistan, following the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) decision to end its ceasefire with the government in 2022. Since then, the group has repeatedly targeted security forces, police, and law enforcement personnel.

Just last week, three police officials were martyred when security forces repelled a terrorist assault on a checkpost in KP’s Hangu district, underscoring the persistent threat in the region.
