Government launches action against vehicles using fake fitness certificates

The Sindh Government’s Transport and Mass Transit Department has initiated action against vehicles using fake fitness certificates, following the directives of Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon.

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has directed the PTA Secretary to cancel the route permits of all vehicles found using fake fitness certificates, update the records of such vehicles on the department’s live portal, register cases against those violating the law, and submit a detailed report on the action taken within three days.

Senior Minister of Sindh Sharjeel Inam Memon said that some transporters were obtaining fake fitness certificates through agents to avoid physical inspection of their vehicles. He said that fake fitness certificates are not only a serious violation of the law but also a major threat to public safety. He said that no one will be allowed to endanger the lives and property of the people, and that the use of fake fitness certificates is not only illegal but also a serious crime.

He further said that the government is committed to making the transport system safe, transparent, and in accordance with the law. Anyone found involved in this illegal activity, whether a transporter or an agent, will be proceeded against without discrimination.

Karachi goods transporters end strike

The goods transporters of Karachi announced to end their wheel-jam strike after issuance of an order from the Sindh government. According to details, the final round of negotiations between goods transporters and representatives of the Sindh government will be held today at 12 pm.

President of Transport Goods Alliance Malik Shehzad Awan, said that the provincial government will issue Heavy Traffic Vehicle (HTV) licenses to the drivers. President Transport Goods Association Tariq Gujjar, said that the negotiations between the representatives of the Sindh government and goods transporters continued for eight hours.

He said that the majority of demands belonged to the federal, Punjab, and Sindh and most of their demands were accepted, while there is a deadlock over some demands. He said that their strike will continue till the acceptance of their demands. After the issuance of the notification till evening today, the drivers will end their wheel-jam strike.
