From January 2026, the Excise Department will send monthly bills to residents. This will continue for six months to familiarize citizens with the system. After June 2026, bills will switch to an annual payment schedule. The move aims to improve efficiency in waste management and revenue collection.
The exemption for smaller homes and a tiered system for other properties reflects efforts to balance affordability with public service needs. Authorities stated that this structured approach will encourage timely payments and ensure better sanitation services across Lahore.
