Published on: December 29, 2025 10:18 PM

Afghanistan Interior Minister Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani has welcomed recent statements by Pakistani religious scholars and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar aimed at reducing tensions between Kabul and Islamabad, calling them positive and encouraging. Haqqani emphasized that such statements contribute to regional stability and help build trust between the two neighbouring countries.

While addressing a ceremony recognising the performance of Kabul’s municipality and other institutions, Haqqani praised Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar for expressing goodwill toward Afghanistan. He also thanked Pakistani scholars, including Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Mufti Taqi Usmani, for publicly supporting peace in the region.

Haqqani stressed that the Islamic Emirate is committed to both domestic and regional security, insisting that the Afghan people pose no threat to any nation. He added that when Afghanistan achieves peace internally, it aims to convey messages of brotherhood and goodwill globally.

The Afghan minister further urged the international community to assist in Afghanistan’s reconstruction while calling on citizens to support the Islamic Emirate’s efforts. He highlighted that cooperation from other countries is essential for the nation’s development and stability after decades of conflict.
