Sannia Ashfaq urges legal process in Imad Wasim divorce dispute

Published on: December 31, 2025 2:32 PM

Sannia Ashfaq has reiterated that disputes surrounding her divorce from Pakistan cricketer Imad Wasim should be addressed through legal channels, as a public exchange of statements continues to draw attention on social media.

In a message shared on Instagram, Sannia stressed that evidence should be presented before courts and competent authorities rather than online platforms. She said justice is achieved through due process and not by creating a public spectacle, warning that attempts to defame or incite against a grieving party would be dealt with strictly under the law.

Her remarks came after digital creator and lawyer Nyla Raja issued a response to criticism linked to the divorce. Nyla had urged social media users to focus on legal facts and avoid spreading rumours, stating that genuine evidence could be submitted to relevant authorities and that defamation laws applied only to false and malicious claims.

Responding to this, Sannia maintained that the matter remains legally disputed and under scrutiny. She emphasised that documented evidence exists related to the case but said she was being threatened not to make it public. Any such intimidation, she added, would be challenged through lawful means.

Earlier, Sannia had alleged that the involvement of a third party ultimately led to the breakdown of her marriage. In an earlier statement, she described emotional distress and said she remained patient for the sake of her children and family dignity, despite what she termed prolonged hardship.

She also highlighted the personal toll of the separation, stating that her children, including an infant, had been deeply affected by the situation. Sannia said her decision to speak publicly was not driven by vengeance but by a desire to assert the truth and protect her children’s future.

Quoting verses from the Holy Quran, she underlined her belief that accountability would ultimately prevail. She concluded by saying that silence should not be mistaken for weakness and that she would continue to pursue justice through proper legal channels rather than social media narratives.
