Man arrested for filming women in hospital washroom

Published on: January 2, 2026 4:07 PM

Police in Rawalpindi have arrested a man for allegedly filming indecent videos of women inside a washroom at the Cantonment General Hospital, officials confirmed on Friday.

According to a spokesperson for the Rawalpindi Police, the suspect was taken into custody after Cantt Police registered a case over the reported harassment incident. The arrest followed a complaint lodged by the hospital’s security supervisor, Nauman, who alerted authorities after receiving information about suspicious activity in the washroom.

The first information report (FIR) stated that security personnel rushed to the washroom after hearing screams from a woman. Upon reaching the scene, they apprehended the accused and recovered a mobile phone that reportedly contained indecent videos of women. Police were immediately informed, and the suspect was handed over to Cantt Police Station.

Officials said preliminary investigations indicated that the accused had been secretly recording women inside the hospital washroom. The recovery of the videos from his mobile phone formed the basis of the charges registered against him.

Station House Officer (SHO) Cantt Police Noor-ul-Ain said the suspect would be formally charged on the basis of solid evidence once the investigation is completed. She added that further inquiries were underway to determine whether more victims were involved and if the suspect had committed similar offences elsewhere.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar Talha Wali strongly condemned the incident, stating that harassment or violence against women and children would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He warned that individuals involved in such crimes would face strict action in accordance with the law.
