ISLAMABAD (January 2, 2026) – Pakistan and seven other Muslim countries have voiced deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. They demanded Israel allow the UN and international NGOs full access to provide aid. Severe weather, shortages, and damaged infrastructure are worsening conditions for civilians.
The joint statement, issued by the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and the UAE, highlighted the plight of nearly 1.9 million people.
Flooded camps, collapsed shelters, malnutrition, and cold weather are putting women, children, the elderly, and vulnerable populations at high risk. Disease outbreaks are also rising due to inadequate medical facilities.

The ministers praised UN agencies, especially UNRWA, and international NGOs for continuing relief efforts under extremely difficult conditions. They stressed that any attempts to block humanitarian operations are unacceptable.

They urged Israel to allow predictable and unrestricted entry of essential supplies, including food, medical aid, clean water, and shelter materials.

They reaffirmed support for UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and President Trump’s Comprehensive Plan. They called for scaled-up recovery efforts, durable shelters, and rehabilitation of hospitals and infrastructure to protect civilians from severe winter conditions. The ministers emphasized that international pressure on Israel is needed to ensure humanitarian access.
The statement concluded with a call for the Rafah Crossing to be fully opened in both directions and for the international community to uphold its moral and legal responsibilities. Aid must flow without interference to ensure Palestinians a dignified life and a path to self-determination.
