The federal government of Pakistan has announced a nationwide public holiday on February 5 to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day, reaffirming its support for the people of Indian-administered Kashmir and their right to self-determination.

Citizens across the country will observe a one-minute silence at 10 a.m. to honor Kashmiri martyrs. The day serves as a symbol of unity and reflects Pakistan’s continued political and moral backing for Kashmiris.

Authorities said special events, including seminars, rallies, and prayer gatherings, will take place in major cities and towns. These activities aim to raise awareness about the Kashmir issue and emphasize the importance of solidarity at both national and international levels.

Government offices, schools, and most private businesses will remain closed during the holiday, while essential services such as hospitals, emergency response units, and public transport will continue to operate to support citizens’ needs.
