The meeting took place during a visit by a Pakistani delegation led by Asim Munir, with several senior Iranian officials also in attendance. The engagement reflects ongoing regional consultations aimed at promoting stability and supporting dialogue amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, Abbas Araghchi welcomed the Pakistani delegation and expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s role in hosting recent talks. He noted that the engagement demonstrated the depth of bilateral ties between the two countries.

“Peace and stability in the region remain a shared and strong commitment,” the Iranian foreign minister said, highlighting the importance of continued diplomatic coordination.

The Pakistani delegation’s visit comes at a critical time, as efforts are underway to resume Iran-US negotiations following an earlier round of talks that did not result in a breakthrough. Regional actors, including Pakistan, have been actively engaged in facilitating dialogue between the two sides.

According to reports, Iranian officials received the delegation upon arrival in Tehran, underlining the significance both countries attach to the visit. The discussions are expected to contribute to broader diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and maintaining the current ceasefire environment.

Pakistan and Iran share longstanding relations, with cooperation spanning trade, border security and regional connectivity. The latest meeting signals continued engagement at the highest levels as both sides seek to play a constructive role in addressing evolving geopolitical challenges.

Observers say such interactions are crucial in sustaining momentum for dialogue, particularly as multiple stakeholders work to prevent further escalation and encourage peaceful resolution of disputes in the region.
