TIME 100 2026: Ranbir Kapoor only Indian actor on influential global lists

Indian film star Ranbir Kapoor has received global recognition after being named to the prestigious TIME 100 list, an annual selection of the world’s most influential people shaping culture, politics and public life. The announcement sparked warm reactions from fans and peers, with his wife, actress Alia Bhatt, publicly celebrating the milestone. She shared Kapoor’s TIME 100 feature on her Instagram Stories and added a brief but affectionate note, “Looking good baby,” accompanied by an emoji. The post quickly gained attention online, reflecting the couple’s popularity and the significance of the achievement.

Kapoor’s profile in the magazine was written by fellow actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who praised his body of work and approach to acting. In his tribute, Khurrana wrote that while some actors pursue legacy through external markers of success, Kapoor has built his legacy through craft and consistent performances. He highlighted Kapoor’s ability to rise above box office pressures and focus on meaningful storytelling.

The TIME 100 list is widely regarded as a benchmark of global influence, spanning categories such as artists, leaders, innovators and icons. This year’s list also includes prominent international figures such as US President Donald Trump, Pope Leo XIV, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and astronaut Reid Wiseman, commander of the 2026 Artemis II mission.
