Naqvi visits NADRA centres, orders improvement in facilities

Published on: May 4, 2026 12:38 AM

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday paid a surprise visit to the 24/7 Shimla Pahari center of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA),expressing dissatisfaction over poor service delivery and directing authorities to immediately improve facilities and streamline operations.

During the visit, the minister witnessed an excessive rush of citizens, long waiting times and a non-functional air-conditioning system, which caused inconvenience to applicants.

He also interacted with citizens, inquired about the process of obtaining Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and other documents and inspected various service counters to assess operational efficiency and public grievances.

Taking serious notice of the situation,Naqvi directed officials to improve crowd management and ensure efficient handling of applicants to reduce waiting times.

He stressed that provision of prompt and hassle-free services to citizens must be ensured at all costs.

The minister noted that during his earlier visit to the same facility, conditions had been comparatively better but said the situation this time was “unsatisfactory” based on public feedback.

He issued on the spot instructions to address shortcomings on a priority basis and improve overall service standards at the center.
