Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur has openly criticized a recent party statement, describing it as an example of PTI Internal Dispute and an indication of a dictatorial approach within the party. His remarks surfaced in an audio message shared in the party’s parliamentary WhatsApp group.
According to the audio message, Gandapur reminded party members that provincial presidents had also spoken against his government during his tenure, yet no such statements or disciplinary actions were issued at that time. He argued that differences of opinion have always existed within political parties and should not be treated as grounds for punitive measures.
Gandapur further stated that party members who disagree with the leadership should not be threatened through official notifications or public statements. He said that similar situations in the past were handled without issuing formal declarations and urged the leadership to adopt a more inclusive approach.
Offering what he described as friendly advice, Gandapur called on the party leadership to address the concerns of dissatisfied members through dialogue. He warned that a dictatorial attitude would only deepen divisions and make matters worse. His comments come amid growing tensions between PTI leaders and some party lawmakers.
Meanwhile, party figures including Mushtaq Ghani and Idris Khattak also voiced concerns over recent decisions. Ghani said he had not violated party discipline and had merely mentioned the party founder’s name, while Khattak argued that the notification suggested raising a voice for the founder had become an offense. The developments highlight the ongoing PTI Internal Dispute after the party leadership decided to halt negotiations with dissenting members and formally issued a related statement.
