The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has approved an increase in match fees for national team players, along with the budget for the 12 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and several major investments in domestic cricket and infrastructure.

The decisions were made during a meeting of the PCB Board of Governors chaired by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, where members unanimously approved a surplus budget for the 2026-27 financial year.

The board also approved plans to make the Pakistan Super League administratively and financially autonomous and sanctioned the budget for PSL 12. In addition, the domestic cricket budget was increased from Rs3 billion to Rs4 billion to support the development of the game across the country.

The meeting also approved a new central contracts framework, revised payment procedures and higher match fees for national team players. According to sources, players representing Pakistan in Test cricket will receive Rs1.5 million per match, while ODI players will earn Rs650,000 and T20I players Rs450,000 per match.

Players in Categories A and B of the central contracts will receive higher payments depending on the format they play. Category A Test players will earn Rs1.5 million per match, while Category A ODI and T20I players will receive Rs750,000 and Rs650,000 respectively. Category B ODI players will also receive Rs750,000, while T20I players in the category will earn Rs500,000 per match.

The Board of Governors also approved an increase in match fees for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, raising payments from Rs30,000 to Rs100,000 per match, while reserve players’ fees were increased from Rs15,000 to Rs50,000.

Additional funding was approved for women’s ODI and T20 tournaments, the operational launch of 12 more cricket grounds, and infrastructure upgrades, including National Stadium, with Rs6.7 billion allocated for these projects. Funds were also approved to install a biomechanics machine at the High Performance Centre in Lahore.
