Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the resumption of Lahore-Manchester and Islamabad-Beijing flights, restoring two key international routes. The move expands travel options for passengers heading to the United Kingdom and China. Demand has been strong, with the first Lahore-Manchester flight already fully booked.
PIA said two-way flights between Lahore and Manchester will resume from July 1 after a five-year suspension. The first Manchester-Lahore flight will operate on July 1, while the first Lahore-Manchester service will depart on July 2 aboard a Boeing 777 aircraft. The airline confirmed that all 310 seats on the July 2 flight have already been booked.
The national carrier noted that its UK operations have continued to recover since restrictions were eased. PIA’s UK services were suspended in 2020 following a ban on its operations. Islamabad-Manchester flights resumed last year, and the restoration of the Lahore route marks another step in rebuilding its British network.
PIA also announced the return of weekly Islamabad-Beijing flights from July 3 after a two-month suspension. The route had remained closed since April 10 because of the security situation in the Middle East. A Boeing 777 aircraft will operate one weekly round-trip service between the two capitals.
The airline said restoring the Lahore-Manchester and Islamabad-Beijing routes will improve international connectivity and passenger convenience. PIA added that it plans to gradually resume additional suspended international services as operational conditions continue to improve.
