
Pakistan will host the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ministerial Conference on Women on July 12 and 13, welcoming representatives from all 57 member states for discussions on issues affecting women across the Islamic world. The high-level gathering is expected to strengthen cooperation among member countries and promote dialogue on shared priorities.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired the sixth meeting of the High-Level Committee to review final preparations for the two-day conference. During the meeting, officials conducted a detailed assessment of arrangements to ensure the event is organised smoothly and efficiently before the arrival of international delegations.
The committee reviewed the conference agenda along with security, protocol and logistical planning for the visiting delegates. Officials also examined media arrangements and coordination among various government institutions to ensure every aspect of the event is managed effectively throughout the conference.
According to the Foreign Office, the conference will provide an important platform for representatives from all 57 OIC member states to exchange views on matters concerning women. The event is expected to encourage greater collaboration among member countries while supporting dialogue on policies and initiatives aimed at addressing common challenges.
Ishaq Dar expressed satisfaction with the preparations made by the Ministry of Human Rights and directed all relevant institutions to remain fully engaged until the conference concludes successfully. He instructed departments to maintain close coordination, complete every remaining arrangement on schedule and ensure Pakistan hosts the international gathering in an organised and professional manner.
