Over 600 Families in Jhelum Receive Free Land Allotment Letters Under Housing Scheme

Apni Zameen Apna Ghar Program

More than 600 families in Jhelum have received free land allotment letters under the Apni Zameen Apna Ghar Program. The Punjab government’s housing initiative aims to help deserving citizens become homeowners by providing free three-marla residential plots.

Under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s housing scheme, a total of 730 applications from Jhelum were approved. More than 600 successful applicants have already received their allotment letters for free residential land.

Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani distributed allotment letters to more than 400 beneficiaries during a ceremony. He congratulated the families and said providing every citizen with a home is a promise that the government is committed to fulfilling.

Kayani also highlighted that the federal government’s “Prime Minister Apna Ghar” scheme offers interest-subsidized loans of up to Rs. 10 million through banks at a low 5% interest rate. He added that eligible beneficiaries under the Punjab scheme can also obtain an interest-free loan of Rs. 1.5 million from the Bank of Punjab to help build their homes.

The Apni Zameen Apna Ghar Program received 5,942 online applications in Jhelum. After NADRA verification and land record scrutiny, 730 applicants were selected through a transparent computerized balloting process. Government officials said the initiative will continue to support deserving families across Punjab in achieving the dream of owning a home.
