Iranian Parliament Speaker and chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has said that Iran will never recognize Israel under any circumstances. Speaking during meetings in Tehran, he stressed that Iran stance on Israel remains unchanged and that the country will continue supporting Muslims and resistance groups through political means and other forms of backing. He also described the implementation of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding as difficult but achievable.
During a meeting with Hamas Leadership Council Chairman Mohammad Darwish, Ghalibaf said that despite the memorandum of understanding, serious differences between Iran and the United States still remain. He added that Iran would continue to protect its national interests and would not compromise on its foreign policy principles.
Ghalibaf said that, in line with the guidance of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran will continue supporting Muslims and resistance groups. He also called on Muslim countries to play a more active role, saying many have realized that cooperation with the United States and Israel does not guarantee their security.
In a separate meeting with the Vice Chairman of Yemen’s Houthi Supreme Political Council, Ghalibaf claimed that the United States and Israel had been forced to acknowledge Iran’s allies within the “Axis of Resistance,” describing it as one of the achievements of the memorandum. He added that diplomatic success depends on maintaining strong military preparedness and warned that any sign of weakness could encourage attacks against Iran.
Meeting later with senior Hezbollah official Mohammad Fneish, Ghalibaf said lasting peace in Lebanon cannot be achieved without Iran’s involvement. He reiterated that Iran stance on Israel remains firm and said Tehran would continue its diplomatic and political efforts to support its regional policies and interests.
