Nadia Khan comments on Sajal Aly’s performance in Zanjeerein

Published on: July 13, 2026 4:00 PM

Pakistani television host and actress Nadia Khan has shared her views on Sajal Aly’s performance in the hit drama serial Zanjeerein, criticizing the actress’s dialogue delivery in a key scene that has since become a topic of discussion on social media.

During the latest episode of the review show Kya Drama Hai, Nadia Khan discussed a sequence in which Sajal Aly’s character, Rabia, is seen running for her life while calling out for help. Nadia argued that the scene lacked the emotional intensity expected from such a life-threatening situation. According to her, someone trying to escape danger would naturally shout loudly for help instead of speaking in a soft tone.

To explain her point, Nadia mimicked the way Sajal delivered the dialogue in the scene, saying the performance did not reflect the fear and urgency shown on screen. She also questioned how Danyal Zafar’s character was able to hear Rabia’s faint voice from a considerable distance, suggesting that the audio and visuals did not match convincingly.

Zanjeerein airs on Hum TV and is written by Farhat Ishtiaq, directed by Shehzad Kashmiri, and produced by Momina Duraid. The drama stars Sajal Aly, Ameer Gilani, Danyal Zafar, and Sehr Hashmi in leading roles. Although the serial received a modest response when it premiered, it has steadily gained popularity and is now widely discussed among viewers.

Nadia Khan’s remarks have generated mixed reactions online. While some viewers agreed with her criticism and felt the scene could have been performed differently, many fans defended Sajal Aly, praising her acting throughout the series and describing her as one of Pakistan’s finest performers. The discussion has once again highlighted how television reviews continue to influence public conversations around popular dramas, with viewers expressing differing opinions about performances and storytelling on social media.
