According to media reports, Swift paid more than $160,000 for security, police deployment and other government-related services required for the wedding celebrations held at Madison Square Garden. Speaking at a press conference, Mamdani said the payment covered event permits and additional police services, meaning the city did not incur any extra financial burden. “The security and permit costs were fully paid by Taylor Swift,” the mayor said, adding that taxpayers were not charged for the event.
