The process of embalming has begun, and the body will be handed over to the family later today after it is transported to India from Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport.

Authorities probing into the matter of the Bollywood megastar’s death had confirmed earlier that there were no marks on actress Sridevi’s body.

The official Twitter account of Dubai Police on Monday dropped the usage of word ‘accidental’ from the actor’s death case, as the forensic report cover has said earlier that the reason for her death was ‘accidental drowning’.

Khaleej Times confirms that the mortal remains of the 54-year-old have been handed over to her bereaved family, with it being transported to a facility in the Muhaisna locality for embalming.

The Dubai government has also tweeted that the Dubai Public Prosecution’s investigation into her death has been closed.

Dubai Public Prosecution stressed that all regular procedures followed in such cases have been completed. As per the forensic report, the death of the Indian actress occurred due to accidental drowning following loss of consciousness. The case has now been closed.
