Maryam’s lawyer concludes cross-examination of NAB DG in Avenfield properties case

Published on: April 24, 2018 1:29 PM

ISLAMABAD: The proceedings in the accountability court hearing the corruption references against the Sharif family resumed again today, as Maryam Nawaz’s counsel Amjad Pervez cross-examined prosecution witness Zahir Shah.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had earlier presented Director General (DG) Operations Zahir Shah as a witness.

During the hearing, Shah claimed that he had acquired a copy of Volume X of the Joint Investigation Team’s (JIT) report, but had only shared the contents of the volume with the investigation officer.

Zahir Shah had also informed the court that he had received documents on the Avenfield properties in London that showed that former Prime Minister Nawaz was the owner of the flats, not his sons Hassan and Hussain.

Former Premier Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd.) Safdar were all present at the hearing today, but were later allowed to leave.
