Shahbaz writes to caretaker Punjab CM to register protest against crackdown on workers

Published on: July 12, 2018 10:24 PM

LAHORE:President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shahbaz Sharif  registered protest through a letter to caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Hassan Askari Rizvi against the recent illegal crackdown of PML-N workers.

In its letter ,Shahbaz complained that it was worst act of administration that the PML-N workers were sent to Kot Lakhpat jail for judicial remand without any rhyme and reason. Moreover, it was mentioned in the letter that it was the violation of code of conduct and of the Election Commission as well. It is pre-poll bargaining and a violent act of punjab administration.

”169 workers of PML-N are already in Kot Lakhpat jail ,which means that our peaceful election campaign is being sabogated in a willful and blatant manner” the protest-letter reads.

The copy of letter was also sent to the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) ,and the Chief Election Commission of Pakistan saying that that act would influence the peaceful campaign of PML-N.

Shahbaz Sharif demanded the release of all workers.
