PTI’s Ikramullah Gandapur martyred in suicide attack in DI Khan

Published on: July 22, 2018 3:26 PM

DI KHAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) candidate Sardar Ikramullah Gandapur succumbed to his wounds on Sunday morning after a suicide bomber targeted his vehicle in DI Khan’s Kalachi tehsil.

The district police officer (DPO) informed the media that the injured were immediately shifted to District Headquarters Hospital.

“Gandapur’s guard and driver are badly injured and in a critical condition,” the DPO further added.

The DPO said that due to his injuries, Ikramullah has been shifted to Combined Military Hospital’s operation theatre.

According to the sources, the former agriculture minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was coming back home from an election meeting.

The police and security forces reached the site of the incident and the area is cordoned off. The police have recovered severed limbs of the attacker and further investigation are underway.

The PTI leader aimed to field polls from PK-99 (DI Khan-V).

The party chairman Imran Khan condemned the attack via a Twitter post and wished the deceased a speedy recovery.

Strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack against Ikram Khan Gandapur and his convoy today. May Allah grant Ikram and the other injured a speedy recovery.
