Pakistan announce squad for Test series against New Zealand

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the Test series against New Zealand on Saturday.

Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq said that the selection committee has selected the 15-membered squad after the consultation with the skipper Sarfarz Ahmed and Head Coach Micky Arthur.

The selection committee rested the opener Fakhar Zaman and spinner Shadab Khann while young pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi and batsman Saad Ali made their way to the squad.

Chief Selector said that the team has been selected keeping in mind the conditions of the UAE, where Shahdab Khan and Fakhar Zaman have been rested from the Test matches and have also been advised to undergo training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Shaheen Shah Afridi has been included in the squad keeping his current form. Saad Ali included in the side after performing in domestic cricket and recent Pakistan A series in the UAE,”

The final 15-member squad includes

Sarfaraz Ahmad (c), Imam Ul Haq, Muhammad Hafeez, Azhar Ali, Haris Sohail, Asad shafiq, Baber Azam, Saad Ali, Yasir Shah, Bilal Asif, Muhammad Abbas, Hassan Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Faheem Ashraf and Mir Hamza.
