IMARAT launches Pakistan’s first hospitality, wellness academy

Published on: October 28, 2025 1:39 AM

IMARAT has announced the launch of the IMARAT Hospitality and Wellness Academy, a dedicated training institute aimed at empowering Pakistan’s youth and strengthening the country’s tourism and hospitality sector.

The announcement was made following the graduation of IMARAT’s hospitality team, which completed 14 months of intensive training under the guidance of experts from Marriott International and FFA London.

The IMARAT Hospitality and Wellness Academy will be situated at IMARAT Downtown, the group’s flagship mixed-use development in Islamabad. The first cohort of trainees is set to begin in the coming weeks, marking the start of a structured program designed to meet international standards of hospitality and service excellence.

Sharing the development, Mr. Shafiq Akbar, Chairman IMARAT, said that Pakistan’s tourism and hospitality industry holds immense potential but continues to face challenges in developing globally competitive infrastructure and professional training facilities.

After 14 months of extensive training, our team is graduating, huge congratulations to them, and sincere thanks to Marriott management, FFA London, and especially Sean Brennan for their support and guidance, said Mr. Shafiq Akbar.

He added that the IMARAT Hospitality and Wellness Academy will train thousands of young Pakistanis, equipping them with international-level skills to serve in Pakistan and abroad. “This initiative is not just to support our upcoming hotels but to empower Pakistani youth to serve and shine, here in Pakistan and globally”, he said.

To ensure quality and international accreditation, the institute will collaborate with some of the world’s top hospitality brands and academic institutions.

Alongside this initiative, IMARAT is also developing four international-standard hotels across Pakistan under the Marriott brand, further strengthening the country’s position as a growing destination for global tourism and investment.

The launch of the academy marks a major step in IMARAT’s vision to develop Pakistan’s hospitality infrastructure and create sustainable employment opportunities through world-class education and training programs.
