KP cabinet to hold first meeting under CM Sohail Afridi

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial cabinet, under Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi, is set to hold its first formal meeting on November 14 (Friday), officials confirmed.

Invitations have been extended to 10 ministers, one special assistant, and two advisers to attend the session. The agenda has been released, outlining 53 key points for discussion.

Among the notable items, the cabinet is expected to approve the declaration of the peace jirga, a major initiative aimed at promoting peace and stability across the province. Other proposals include replacing 25 official vehicles for district and sessions judges, implementing a 20 percent increase in toll tax on the Swat Expressway, and lifting the ban on VIP vehicle procurement for the governor.

The meeting will also cover the formal approval of the One Farmer, One Cow project to boost agriculture and rural economies, the release of special funds for rehabilitation in Tirah and North Waziristan, and provision of a bulletproof vehicle for a bench of the Peshawar High Court. Performance reports from various departments will also be presented.

CM Sohail Afridi is expected to issue new directives aimed at improving governance, accelerating development projects, and enhancing administrative efficiency throughout KP.
