Indonesian President to arrive tomorrow - Pakistan - Business Recorder

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a traffic advisory for December 8 and 9 ahead of the official visit of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. Authorities have warned that traffic in the capital will be heavier than usual during specified timings due to security arrangements and VIP movements.

On Monday, December 8, traffic is expected to be heavier from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (noon), while on Tuesday, December 9, congestion may increase between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Faisal Avenue, Express Highway, and Srinagar Highway are likely to face significant delays, prompting citizens to use alternative routes where possible.

Red Zone access will be restricted during the two-day visit, with the Express Roundabout and Marriott gates closed. Motorists are advised to use Serena, NADRA, and Margalla Roads to enter the Red Zone, while ITP personnel will be deployed across key locations to manage traffic flow.

Suggested alternative routes include Rawal Road, 9th Avenue, and Faqir A. P. Road for travel between Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Commuters from Murree and Bhara Kahu are recommended to take Ring Road, Bani Gala, Park Road, and Lehtrar Road to reach the city efficiently.

President Prabowo Subianto is undertaking the visit on the special invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Indonesia. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation of ministers and senior officials.
