Music, poetry festival organised on second day of Shahbaz Qalandar’s urs

On the second day of the 774th Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA), the Culture Department organised a music and poetry festival

On the second day of the 774th annual Urs of the great Sufi poet, dervish and scholar of Sindh, Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) the Culture Department organized a music and poetry festival at the park of the Public Library Sehwan, in which renowned artists and poets of Sindh displayed their art in a magnificent manner.

The ceremony was attended by Additional Secretary Culture Abdul Ghani Mehr, Director Culture Saleem Ahmed Solangi, artists, poets and literature enthusiasts in large numbers. The poetry festival was presided over by renowned poet Hameed Aas Babbar, in which Khalil Arif, Abul Udas Babbar, Gulzar Sial, Mir Saban Mir, Masoom Bukhari, Tabish Bukhari and Compere Sajjad Yousuf Soomro and other poets presented their poems and enlivened the gathering.

Four moons were set, before that, in the folk music festival, artists including Hamraz Bhatti, Hamid Raza, Ali Raza, Shahmir Sargani, Anwar Zardari, Lal Bakhsh and Mansoor Channa forced the audience to dance with their performances.

On this occasion, Director of Culture Saleem Ahmed Solangi, in his address, appreciated the art of poets and folk artists and said that these artists are the guardians of the cultural heritage of Sindh and have played an important role in spreading the message of the Sufi saints and elders of Sindh.

During the ceremony, on the second day of the Urs Mubarak, book stalls and handicraft exhibitions continued in the premises of the Public Library, which were visited by a large number of visitors.
