Pakistan’s relief efforts began on October 19, 2023, shortly after Israel launched its bombardment of Gaza. The initial consignment included essential medicines, tents, and other supplies aimed at helping the two million residents facing dire conditions due to the conflict.
The aid goods were sent via a chartered flight from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport to Egypt’s Al-Arish airport, from where they are forwarded to Gaza. Authorities emphasized that the shipments are intended to support humanitarian needs irrespective of political developments.
Israel controls access to the Gaza Strip and has been accused of impeding relief at times, though it officially denies withholding supplies. The prolonged military operation has resulted in significant casualties and displacement, with over 71,000 Palestinians reported dead and much of the territory left in ruins.
The humanitarian situation has drawn widespread international criticism. Human rights organizations including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have described the situation in Gaza as a “genocide,” a claim rejected by Israel.

Pakistani officials reiterated that the continued dispatch of relief goods reflects Islamabad’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations in Gaza. Authorities stressed that Pakistan would continue monitoring the humanitarian situation and coordinate further aid shipments as needed to alleviate the suffering of civilians caught in the conflict.
