City School organises Middle School Sports Day

Published on: February 21, 2026 12:52 AM

The City School DHA Campus proudly hosted its Middle School Sports Day on a crisp winter morning, transforming the grounds into a vibrant arena of energy, colour, and celebration. The event reflected the institution’s commitment to holistic development, seamlessly blending athletic excellence with character building. The spacious, dedicated playing field provided the perfect stage for a large-scale sporting showcase of this nature.

The esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Asma Afzal Shami, graced the occasion and encouraged students to embrace discipline, resilience, and ambition. In her address, she highlighted the role of sports in building confidence and leadership qualities that extend far beyond the field, referencing her AAGL initiative and her efforts to take golf to the international level. She emphasised that sports are not merely about the game, but about ethics, respect for rules, and the cultivation of character and civility. Her inspiring words set the tone for a day dedicated to celebrating both athletic achievement and personal growth.

Under the visionary leadership of Principal Saima Haroon and Headmistress Nishat Kashir, the Sports Day was executed with impeccable precision. Their strategic planning, alongside the tireless dedication of teachers and support staff, ensured an event that was both spectacular and smoothly managed. From concept to execution, every element reflected professionalism, creativity, and teamwork.

The programme opened with a soul-stirring choir performance, setting an uplifting tone for the day. Creatively designed races captured the spirit of healthy competition, while high-energy gymnastics, karate, and cheerleading performances – enhanced by dramatic smoke effects – drew enthusiastic applause from the audience. The expansive playing field perfectly accommodated all activities, turning vision into reality.

Throughout the event, team spirit and athletic enthusiasm remained remarkably high. Students displayed confidence, coordination, and sportsmanship, reflecting months of rigorous training and the school’s emphasis on excellence beyond the classroom.

The Middle School Sports Day concluded as a resounding success, reinforcing The City School DHA Campus as an institution dedicated to nurturing well-rounded individuals – equipped not only with academic strength, but with the courage, discipline, and leadership skills required to thrive in a competitive world. The day’s achievements mirrored Dr. Shami’s message, reminding all that true success comes from the perfect balance of skill, character, and perseverance.
