Police have launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts to identify and apprehend those responsible. Authorities have urged the public to provide any information that may help in the investigation.

In response to the killing, the Young Doctors Association (YDA) announced the closure of Liaquat Memorial Hospital and all hospitals in Kohat until the assailants are arrested. The strike has been extended across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with medical services suspended, causing significant difficulties for patients requiring urgent care and routine consultations.

YDA President Dr Ubaid condemned the attack, emphasizing the security risks faced by healthcare professionals. “Doctors serve the public 24 hours in Ramadan and in every circumstance. Is this treatment for the doctors just?” he said. He pledged to continue the protest until the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice, calling on the government and law enforcement to take immediate action.

The incident has reignited concerns over the safety of medical staff, particularly women, in the province. Healthcare professionals and civil society groups have demanded enhanced security measures to protect those on the frontlines of public service.
