Pakistan Launches Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq After Afghan Taliban Border Aggression

Published on: February 27, 2026 1:17 AM

Pakistan has launched a firm defensive response after unprovoked cross-border firing by the Afghan Taliban regime along the Pak-Afghan border. To protect its sovereignty and civilian population, Pakistan initiated Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq in the middle of continued aggression, sending a clear message that border violations will not be tolerated. This response reflects Pakistan’s right to self-defense and meets the need to restore stability along the frontier.

Pakistani security forces acted swiftly and professionally across Bajaur, Khyber, Mohmand, Kurram, and Chitral sectors. Multiple hostile check posts and militant hideouts were destroyed after they opened fire first. Attempts to attack Pakistani positions using quadcopters and drones were completely neutralized, with all aerial devices shot down. The response remained precise, controlled, and focused on legitimate military targets.

The Afghan Taliban’s actions went beyond military provocation and included shelling that damaged a mosque in Bajaur. Any attack on civilian areas and places of worship is unacceptable and highlights the irresponsible conduct of the Afghan side. Such incidents further justify Pakistan’s strict and proactive border security measures to protect innocent lives.

Pakistan’s political and national leadership stood firmly behind the armed forces. Federal Information Minister Ataullah Tarar rejected false narratives and propaganda spread through hostile media channels. Leaders including Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah emphasized that Pakistan’s territorial integrity is non-negotiable and that the nation is united in defense of its borders.

Pakistan desires peaceful and stable relations with Afghanistan, but peace cannot exist alongside repeated aggression. If provoked again, Pakistan will respond with the same resolve shown during Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq in the middle of its commitment to national security. The country remains united, vigilant, and fully prepared to defend its people, territory, and dignity.
