Dar, Egyptian FM push diplomatic dialogue

Published on: June 11, 2026 5:17 PM

Pakistan and Egypt have agreed to remain in close contact following a high-level discussion on regional developments. The talks matter because both countries are key diplomatic actors in ongoing Middle East tensions. Governments and regional stakeholders are directly affected by continued engagement efforts.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone call with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Thursday. Both sides discussed evolving regional developments and stressed the need for sustained diplomatic dialogue. The Egyptian foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s mediation efforts. He also expressed hope for early progress toward mutual understanding.

The two leaders reiterated the importance of diplomacy in managing regional challenges. They agreed that continued communication could support long-term peace and stability. Pakistan and Egypt emphasized coordination on issues of shared concern. Both sides also expressed willingness to maintain regular engagement in the coming weeks.

Egypt extended an invitation to Pakistan for the upcoming Regional Four foreign ministers’ meeting. The meeting is scheduled to take place later this month in Egypt. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar accepted the invitation during the call. Officials said participation would further strengthen bilateral and regional cooperation.

Meanwhile, Pakistan separately highlighted its broader economic and industrial priorities. Dar chaired a review meeting on automotive policy and electric vehicle transition. The government emphasized industrial growth, job creation, and sustainable development goals. Officials said these initiatives aim to modernize Pakistan’s manufacturing sector.
